Grit and gallantry personified
Verve and vitality exemplified
In this Tiger of Mysore
A lion-hearted son pure
Stabbed in the back was he
Betrayed by friends was he
With honour and dignity he embraced death
His kingdom he defended till his last breath
His words of bravery, his valiant call
Will forever remain in the minds of all:
“T’s better to live one day as a lion
Than to live a hundred as a jackal”
